Leather CareAll Tignanello leathers are dyed (not painted) and are naturally treated to give them a buttery, soft feel. Applying a quality leather waterproofing/protector spray will make the leather less prone to absorbing dirt and stains. The use of this spray may also change the hand of the leather.
Our leather is durable, ages well, and, if cared for correctly, can last a long time. Here are some ways to protect your purchase:
DUST AND SURFACE DIRT
Simply wipe your bag with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not wash it with water or any other chemical product.
SPILLS
Wipe off excess liquid immediately with a clean cloth or sponge. If necessary, wipe the leather with lukewarm water and let the leather air dry (never use a hair dryer).
SPOTS AND STAINS
The use of clear saddle soap or other leather cream may help to remove spots or stains. Please note that the soap/cream might temporarily darken the leather, but it should come back to its original hue once it dries. However, it’s best to avoid this process if you can.
PENCIL, INK MARKS, GREASE, OIL
Gently use an eraser for slight pencil marks. Most ink, grease and oil marks are not removable. The use of the leather cream noted above may remove some of these issues.
HEAT, SUNLIGHT AND RAIN
All leather bags are best kept out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat (such as radiators). Prolonged exposure to light and/or heat may dry the leather and/or cause the leather to fade or discolor. If the leather bag gets wet, either dry it with a soft cloth or let it air dry.
